Ready for a VACAY!!

my schedule as of late...

Monday...periodic hair classes/ clean house/ study/ teach dance from 3:30-8:30pm
Tuesday... school- 8am-7pm
Wednesday...school- 8am-5pm/ teach dance till 7pm/young womens till 9pm
Thursday... school- 8am-6:30pm/ teach dance till 8:30pm
Friday... school- 8am-7pm
Saturday...school 8am-4pm
Sunday... Church/lessons/choir/family/RELAX!!! Ahh I love Sundays!!

Throw in there some performances/parades/ weddings/family gatherings/gym/wife duties/hubby time,etc. It makes for a crazy schedule here at the Millett household...

But i'm not complaining- only 20 school days left!!! Then it's off to Cali!!!
Ps. Did i mention that i absolutely LOVE this time of year?
pss. Anyone know of a great salon that's hiring?

It's been a busy summer-

Sang the National Anthem at the Mercury Game...

Jonny's new toy- he couldn't be a more proud owner- he found it brand new for a decent price so we went for it- Happy Birthday.... and Christmas... for the next few years :) haha. He claims that his tools make him money. I love a handy man :)

Strong Family Reunion- almost all the family came from Georgia, Utah, and even Thailand!! We are always so sad when the Bunkers have to go back after each summer...

We had a bbq with some friends in July- just a fun way to beat the heat!! Right before Wayne and Amy moved to Texas- we miss you guys!!

I was given the greatest opportunity- to help record on the new Reflections of Christ CD which is coming out in October i believe. I am amazed by the talents of some people- to create fabulous projects such as this one. It was a neat experience... There are so many hours of work that go into it- I alone spent at least 12 hours in the studio recording... it was great to see Richelle again too :)

Rachel's Bridal Shower in July!! I'm so excited for her- she gets married this Saturday to Allen. I love seeing her so happy

Went to texas roadhouse to celebrate G&G Strong's bdays, as well as Jonny's. Yummy food!!

Mason- aka. the little guy... he seriously is the cutest baby ever (until I have kids of course)haha. but really... he is the best baby- i have heard him cry twice.

Jonny turned 24 on August 16th. Yes. I am married to an old person- i always thought 24 was so old- but now i realized that i will be there in 4 months myself- where has the time gone? We took a little trip to the cabin just to chill with friends- it was a blast and exactly what we needed to relax!

J&I met his parents at Canyon Lake on Saturday... My husband is such a stud- serioulsy i'm obsessed with him. That may sound so stupid but really he is perfect for me. I don't know why or how he puts up with me, but he always finds a way to make me happy and to laugh. He is such a blessing in my life. I love you babe.

Yes I am alive... Here's what we've been up to

My sis and I were 2 of the 10 virgins in the Easter Pageant this year! It was my favorite group of girls out of the 3 years i've done it :)

Basically been spending a lot of time with this cute little guy- Mason... I want to eat him up. I am a lucky Auntie!!

Doug and Sarah moved here in March? and we've been hanging out with them more- we went to the MAE concert and I LOVED it!!! They were almost as good as their cd... still my favorite band..


Had the Studio3 Banquet- here are some of the Showstoppers- I have loved teaching them this year!!

My life consists of school... and well... more school- I am loving it more since i have met some of the cutest girls!! I'm seriously setting Shelby up with my brother when he gets home!!

We've been going to the lake a lot- we decided to do that this summer instead of taking a long vacation- it's been a blast! My brother Doug broke his foot playing softball- but that didn't stop him from surfing- thank you saran wrap!!

for the 4th we went to Payson with the inlaws- we found this great little water hole-



The day we almost died- literally. We were at Roosevelt, just as we came out of a cove, a HUGE storm hit us- there were seriously OCEAN WAVES- you better believe i was praying... We raced to get out of the lake- and of course right when we docked, the storm was done- lame.

February happenings...

February has been busy- I started Hair school on the 17th and absolutely love it!! There are some pretty diverse people with me but it will be learning experience :) I bought a chair and can't wait to start doing hair in my house!

Great Grandma Carpenter ( My grandma Leona's mom) is 100 yrs old now. Here she is after the funeral eating pizza with a fork, and asking Jonny "Who are you?" When I went up to say hi to her, she looked at my ring and said- "Now I heard you were engaged?" The last time we visited there Jonny had really long hair and out of the blue she came slowly down the hallway with a comb in her hand and bluntly told J "Comb your hair!" We were laughing so hard- it was just a funny moment. She fell the Monday after the funeral and broke her arm- thus putting her in assisted living... We are all hoping she will go in due time- she does not want to be here :)

Grandpa Kenyon Udall fell a few times a few weeks ago, and discovered he had pneumonia- they also thought he had had a few mild heart attacks so they flew him to Tucson Hospital where he was put on a respirator. He was not very coherrent but had many visitors from Thatcher and Mesa. After a week or so, his lung collapsed and they realized that he was not strong enough to live on his own. It was so sudden and sad- but I am actually really happy that he is now with his wife Leona. He was so miserable and lonely these past 7 months without her. It was a good weekend with all the family together in Thatcher. I came out of the funeral with a sweeter appreciation of the gospel and devoting a life of service to it. My family was joking the night Grandpa died, that we would not have a day without a grandpa udall- because my sis in law Ashley had her baby the next morning, making my dad a Grandpa!!! Wierd!!! I feel a special connection with my grandpa because i'm named after him (Lee Kenyon Udall= Laura Lee Udall), he gave me my patriarchal blessing, and also married Jonny & I almost 2 years ago. Those are sweet things that I will always remember.

INTRODUCING.... MASON BLAKE UDALL!! He is so cute!! I couldn't wait for him to get here- it is so different having a grandkid in my family- Jonny's fam already has 13 or so, but I was the most excited about this time because it's the 1st in my family!! He is the sweetest thing- i wish I could just play with him all day long- poor Ash has a long/annoying recovery but she is so strong- Mason seems worth it to me!!! I can't wait to have one of my own ( in a few years)

I threw a super fun PJ party at the studio!!! We had a blast!!

We had some friends over for a Valentine's day PJ party- it was such a fun night to relax, play fun games, and have fun! We want to have parties every month!! don't you love J's Nash Jammies? He's so cute! Thanks Rach for helping me plan!

My cute Brother Eric left Mid January to the MTC- he's going to Korea,Seoul mission- same place my dad went many years ago!! Crazy;!!! the night he left I just had to say bye fast so I wouldn't cry my eyes out-We have received many letters so far and he is doing great- I don't worry about him right now, but when he leaves for Korea i'm sure I will be scared for him everyday!! He has such a strong testimony and it is fun to see him grow up! Doug & Sarah met him in Utah and hung out for the day.

For my bday, J got me these flowers that were supposed to look like "crazy hair"- he is so creative!! (Ok maybe it was Ellen's idea?) there were hair clips and combs tied to it in honor of me starting hair school- I loved it and was showing them off to everyone that came over!! Thanks for a great bday hun- and the massage!!!

In an attempt to keep me sane during my January boredom, J took me hiking at Camelback Mtn. It was so beautiful- and great weather... He is so sweet :)

Mom & Dad Millett got us tickets to see Lion King for my birthday!! It was so awesome! I loved the whole thing- it made me want to be on Broadway! Can't wait to see Wicked this summer!

New Year Changes...

Well, after I got home from Texas I found out that the studio I worked for was closing... ok... it was CLOSED. No warning for me- yep you can bet I was not a happy camper. I still am not very happy even after a few weeks- basically at the fact that I don't have a job or income anymore. If I was given some notice I could have been searching for a new job before the new semester started but that was not the case. This past semester has been really hard on me at work- and I had contemplated quitting multiple times, but I was NOT ready for this. I'm not going to go into detail because my blog is not private... so... my life has consisted of finishing projects that are undone- ie. scrapbook, journaling, cleaning house, working on YW stuff, actually going to the gym, cooking, relaxing, watching the Hills, etc. I have been trying to look at it as a blessing of some sort- and it wasn't until this week that i realized it was. In my 2nd week of job searching i was still at a loss for finding anything so I started thinking about going back to school. As you know- I do not enjoy school. Unless it has something to do with arts, etc. I could not think of any degree I would want to finish where I could find myself happy with a job- except dance or music. But I realized that I already had a Full Time job at a studio (which is rare) and that wasn't stable. I do not think I would like teaching in a school. So that's out of the picture.

Ever since my 1st year of college I have been telling people that my biggest regret was not going to hair school first. So... I started looking up hair schools in the valley... and went the next day to meet with them. Basically I'm starting cosmetology school in February at Earls. (If everything works out how I want) I am actually really excited!! Minus the fact that we are going to be in major debt and have like zero income- but hey that is the newlywed life right? We feel right about it- its good timing for our family and since we want to think about having kids in the next few years, I want to be done with school and have a flexible job. I am going to be so busy this semester... school Tuesday thru Saturday all day, then hopefully teach dance at night, and still try to be in the Easter Pageant!! It's going to be a crazy year, but well worth it!!

Took a trip to the temple lights with our neighbors Thomas, Christina and Jayden!! They are so wonderful!

Finished off our many parade performances in Queen Creek, Chandler and Tempe.

Had the annual Millett Hayride and Progressive Dinner. My favorite part was the sheep (Elisa) wearing a witch hat and showing her plumber's crack!!

November brought a lot of fun with seeing my girlfriends at Tatum & Chase's wedding. She looked absolutely beautiful and i'm so happy for both of them!!

October took us on another VERY COLD Lake Powell trip where I didn't touch the water once. In the 2 1/2 years we have been going, I have only been there once when it actually was warm enough to get in the water. I swear I have a curse when I go with...
